We’re very happy to welcome the latest wines from Andrea Ugolotti and Daniela Trolio of Colle Florido, including the first release from their new cellar on the hills of Pianella, Abruzzo.
After a career as a sommelier, Andrea went on to work as a winemaking apprentice alongside Franco Soldera and Marino Colleoni, before he and Daniela settled in the Abruzzo hinterland. They now tend three and a half hectares of mainly north-facing vineyards, planted on clay and limestone-rich soils with a high magnesium content. Grain fields and olive trees complete the farm among the gentle hills between the Adriatic and the Apennines.
Their new cellar, designed by Daniela, who previously worked as an architect, reflects the same thoughtful approach. Built mainly from wood, with steel and concrete used for fermentation and ageing, it brings together a simple, contemporary structure with traditional winemaking practices.
The new releases show the character we love in their wines: freshness, depth and precision, with a clear sense of place. From the 2025 vintage, we received the new L’Eva - a delicate skin-contact Trebbiano - alongside the 2024 Il Postino, La Lena and Salvo, and the 2023 Erba Salata.
Next Monday, 12 October, Andrea and Daniela will join us at Bambi in London Fields to show their wines to the trade - a unique occasion to taste the full Colle Florido collection with them.
As usual, the tasting will run from 10am to 4pm. We hope to see you there.
