Davide Vignato

Gambellara

Nestled on the volcanic hills of Gambellara in Western Veneto, Davide’s winemaking story starts with his grandfather, Rinaldo, who bought a small plot and planted vines in the 1950s. His father, Gian Domenico, became the family’s first winemaker and taught Davide the work in the field. In 1997, Davide began converting the vineyards to organic and later biodynamic farming, aiming to produce highly mineral wines that truly capture Gambellara’s distinctive soils.

A large share of the 14 hectares of vineyards are trained with the traditional pergola system. These vines grow on the slope of an extinct volcano, where the soil is rich in dark basaltic rocks. We are proud to import the exceptional sweet wine that Davide produces in the traditional way of the Recioto di Gambellara. The grapes from the Cru Faldeo are harvested by hand, dried naturally for six months and fermented with indigenous yeasts with no additions.
