New release from Luca Bevilacqua

August 2026

We’re very happy to share the new releases from Luca Bevilacqua, one of the kindest and most genuine winemakers we know.

A sommelier with a deep passion for artisanal wine, Luca left his homeland as a young man to work in restaurants across Europe. In 2001, he returned to Atessa, nestled in the hills of Val di Sangro in Southern Abruzzo, and began his journey as a winemaker. Today, Luca farms less than two hectares of vines, trained according to the local Pergola Abruzzese system and rooted in clayey-silty soils.

His approach to the land is holistic and deeply considered. He farms without pesticides or synthetic chemicals, while cover crops between the vines help protect and nourish the soil. After losing the right to work one of his previous plots, Luca began, in recent years, to vinify grapes farmed by a friend on the beautiful sandy shores of the Adriatic Sea.

In the cellar, Luca keeps things equally simple and transparent. Native yeasts, fermentation in steel and fiberglass, and ageing in acacia and ceramic eggs are the tools he uses to let the fruit and the place take centre stage. There is very little intervention, yet plenty of personality: wines with a strong sense of place, remarkable drinkability, and an unmistakable touch that runs through the entire range.

From the 2024 vintage, La Cura Trebbiano and Lello Pecorino come from a vineyard just a stone’s throw from the Adriatic Sea in Francavilla al Mare, bringing a distinctly coastal expression to the wines.

The field blend Super White and Red Lab Montepulciano come from Luca’s old vineyard in Contrada Querceto, just a few minutes from his cellar in Atessa.
