From one of the most original winemakers in Northern Italy, Alberto Buratti of Faedesfa, we are thrilled to share a truly unique sparkling wine.
Made from Corbinello, an indigenous late-ripening red variety from the Colle Euganei in Veneto, the new Nello is a blend of vintages and winemaking approaches.
The base wine comes from the 2023 harvest, when the fruit was directly pressed into tonneaux and aged for one year. In October 2024, fresh Corbinello was pressed into fibreglass tanks; during fermentation, this young wine was blended with the previous vintage before bottling, allowing a natural second fermentation to take place in bottle without the addition of sugar or yeast.
The wine rested on its lees for fourteen months before being disgorged without dosage, resulting in a layered and distinctive sparkling wine. Pale cherry pink in the glass, its creamy mousse carries notes of balsamic herbs, crunchy red berries and a delicate smoky nuance.
An intriguing wine that combines the rustic charm of pét-nat with the elegance of traditional method sparkling, Nello perfectly reflects Alberto’s experimental spirit and deep connection with the local varieties of his land.
